"I Really Absolutely Must Have Glasses" When Lola learns that she's going to be visiting the optician to have her eyes checked, she doesn't want to go. She's already checked her own eyes and they're fine at everything from reading, to seeing shapes and colors. Then, Lola and Lotta realize that their friend Mini Reader wears glasses and learn all about them from her. Suddenly, Lola really wants glasses and is sure she will pick out the perfect pair. Charlie, however, warns her that she will only get glasses if the optician discovers something wrong with her eyes.

When Lola falls ill on the day of the event, Charlie comes up with a unique idea to keep her from being left out.

When she and Charlie get a puppet theatre from granny and grandpa, Lola does not listen when Charlie reads the instructions and puts it together all wrong. Lola does not listen at school and spills water, and also causes herself and Charlie to miss a fun party being held by Arnold Wolf. Charlie, however, is convinced that Lola can learn to listen and has a great idea to help her.

Do Not Ever Never Let Go: Lola is completely satisfied with her tricycle and doesn't want to give it up -- until she sees that Lotta is now riding a bike she got from her cousin. Now, Lola wants to ride a bike too. She learns quickly and has fun, until she sees that Lotta has taken off her stabilizers. Lola wants to ride without stabilizers too, but it isn't as easy as she thought. When she considers giving up, it's up to Charlie to get her to keep trying.

"But I Really Don't Like This Present" Lotta is returning from a summer trip and she and Lola have bough each other gifts, as they always do after one of these trips. Lotta really likes the colorful friendship bracelet that Lola got for her, but Lola is less enamored with the garishly colorful hat that Lotta gives her. It's big, wildly colored, and itchy. Lola really doesn't want the hat, but both she and Charlie agree that Lotta's feelings will be work if she tells her that she doesn't like it. Lola tries various tactics such as "accidentally" losing the hat, or giving it away to Arnold. Arnold really likes it, and wears it everywhere, from breakfast to his bath. When Lotta sees this, however, she asks what's happening, and Lola ends up wearing the hat again. Then, just when Lola is starting to actually like the hat, she finds it in jeopardy.

Lola begins to think Morten doesn't like her, but finds that sometimes it takes a while for some people to come out of their shell.

TOYS


Foxy - Lola's favorite, Foxy is a crimson-red toy fox that sometimes even accompanies her out of the home.
Elly - Lola's toy elephant. It appears Elly is likely made of porcelain; hence, a white canvas body with pink floral designs all over it.
Hoppy - Though not either Charlie nor Lola's toy, it was a toy rabbit that was found by the school gates. Lola cared for it until its proper owner was found.
Cow - A china cow, it appears only in "It Is Absolutely Completely Not Messy".
Giraffe - Upon Lola losing her first wobbly tooth, she purchases a wooden toy giraffe with the 25p she is awarded for the tooth. This occurs in the episode "I Do Not Ever Never Want My Wobbly Tooth To Fall Out".
Chicken - Lotta's wooden toy chicken, it was purchased upon the loss of her first wobbly tooth with the 25p award that she received. This occurs in the episode "I Do Not Ever Never Want My Wobbly Tooth To Fall Out".
Doctor Kit - Lotta's toy doctor kit set, she received it as present for her fifth birthday from Lola, though Lola was a bit reluctant to give the gift away at first due to the attachment she had made with it betwixt the time of purchase and the actual birthday party. Indeed, the episodes very title is "You Won't Like This Present As Much As I Do".

When Lola sees the room of Marv's brother Marty, who never throws anything away, she resolves to get rid of all of her old stuff. Charlie encourages the project, but tells her that she should recycle it instead. Later, they receive a comic called Look After Your Planet that offers a prize of a tree to plant if you're able to collect enough stuff to recycle. Charlie and Lola do their best, but find that they need some help.

IMAGINATIONS


IMAGINATIONS
The Smilies - A brother and sister pair, the Smilies appear in the episode "How Many More Minutes?". Whilst waiting in the sitting room of the dentist's office during their Mum's appointment, Charlie and Lola happen across a poster of two children who are very much smiling. In the course of the waiting and Lola asking "How many more minutes?", they delve into an imaginary adventure with the Smilies. The Smilies explain that the reason they are always smiling is because they have such great teeth, as twice a day they "floss and brush, brush and floss, floss and brush". Moments later they are approached by the Tooth Fairy who pleads with Charlie and Lola to rescue the Smilies from Pirate Squidbones and his motley crew. The rescue a success, with Squidbones and his blokes told to "take a dip drip", Charlie and Lola get to take the poster of the Smilies home at Lola's importunity in asking the lady at the desk of the dentists' office if they could have it.

When Charlie's parents decide that he is responsible enough to have a pet, he gets a mouse named Nibbles. Both he and Lola soon begin having a lot of good times with Nibbles. They teach him many tricks and he proves to be the cleverest pet on "Bring Your Pet to School Day." When Nibbles passes away, Lola seems more broken up about it than Charlie. Charlie helps Lola to see that he's sad too, to cope with the loss and to ultimately celebrate what they both love about Nibbles.

PETS
Sizzles - Marv's dog. Sizzles is a dachshund. He appears in most episodes. In We (Do Promise) Honestly (We Can) Look After Your Dog, Lola and Lotta try their best to care for Sizzles, who is not pleased. They pull the lead off and Sizzles runs behind a tree, where an identical dog appears, who belongs to another boy. He is brought to school by Marv at the Bring A Pet To School Day in I Will Not Ever Never Forget You Nibbles.
Nibbles - Charlie and Lola's short-lived mouse(appearance in 'I Will Not Ever Never Forget You Nibbles'). After Nibbles died, Charlie and Lola got a new mouse named Tickles.

"I Wish I Could Draw Exactly More Like You" When the kids are all assigned to draw pictures of their homes for school, Lotta takes the assignment very seriously. While Charlie, Lola and Marv have fun making their pictures, she becomes frustrated when she can't get her walls exactly straight and the yellow marker runs out. Then, Charlie shows her pictures in his Dad's artwork. She learns about various styles of art --- all expressing great creativity and not necessarily entirely true-to-life.
